My name is Catherine Light. I moved to a large loft a block from Proctor's in Schenectady to begin to create Paper Theater productions. I will use this blog to post items of interest to others who might share my passion for it as an artform.

I am having an organizational meeting on Sunday
April 12th from 2-3:30 pm for those of you who might be interested in getting involved in the formation of a Paper Theater group in the greater Capital District.
Call me for deails at 315.868.8436

No Place To Go But Up...
I tell you, after reading about the history of Alco (Train Manufacturing) and the current situation with GE stock (down 80% in one year)...
the name of my little Paper Theater group sounds appropriate, eh?

I love the music for this video (see below)... with most images, except for the black and white historic shots at the end... taken just this morning on location at the closed train manufacturing plant, Alco.

(Such Beauty!) - Cathy
Wow - Just discovered this YouTube video made from a piece of Newsreel shot in the 1920s. It features Pollock's shop- which still exists in London, and shows him both printing the sets and creating a theater, but performing one of the earlier plays printed and distributed for use in the 1800s!

First Performance This Month

The first Paper Theater show, to be held on Friday, April 17th at the Moon and River Cafe in the Stockade District in Schenectady, will be called "How to make a life" feauring the life of cafe owner, Richard Genest (see below)
